Akinori Towma started his career when he was a teen.

He learned contemporary art at Kanazawa College of Art.

When he was a student, lots of artists influenced him, like Antoni Tàpies, Andy Goldsworthy, Robert Smithson.

After graduation, he moved to the US.

He often uses natural materials for his artworks.

Nature, Unconsciousness, Out of control are his theme.

Of course, those media are uncontrollable but he tries to create artworks that people can’t make alone by cooperating with unpredictable natural phenomena for new creation.

He tries to extract beauty from the uncertain and uncontrollable through his creation.
